Artist Bio: Tracey Hanmer Karl

		Tracey Hanmer Karl lives in upstate NY with her husband Nathan. Although she began her college experience majoring in fine arts, she ultimately graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a dual degree in social work and science. Today she runs two businesses: Creative Expressions: Kids and a small pre-school daycare. According to Tracey, "Creative Expressions: Kids lets me express myself artistically and providing daycare is just plain fun! The kids also make a great test group for my new product designs." Tracey spent her childhood traveling and camping all over the United States and Canada with her family. She draws on her early love of nature and appreciation of its wonderful colors and patterns for inspiration. Her sometimes whimsical yet always colorful children's furniture designs range from conservative and classic to funky and fanciful. Each piece has a touch of the 'earthinesses' that Tracey loves. Each piece reflects the joy that Tracey finds in nature.
Creative Expressions: Kids has expanded in recent years, selling to customers across the country and specialty boutiques on the east coast. Tracey loves working with her customers to create unique and often personalized pieces. "I really enjoy collaborating with people to design furniture painted exclusively for the little ones they love."
